Balanced flue for wood stoves

All our stoves use a clever design called a balanced flue. This system uses a double-walled pipe to pull fresh air from outside your house instead of using the air from inside your room.

Our pellet stoves work a lot like a modern gas boiler. Because of this, they offer several big wins over a standard chimney:

• Better Heating: The system warms up the fresh air before it reaches the fire. Consequently, this helps the stove burn cleaner and save more fuel.

• No Drafts: Since the pipe is airtight, you don’t need to cut extra vents into your walls. As a result, the stove is perfect for modern, well-insulated homes.

• Easier to Fit: Standard chimneys often have to be very tall to work. In contrast, a balanced flue can be much shorter and can even go straight out through a side wall.

• Wind Proof: The design also stops smoke from blowing back into the room on windy days.

Many of our customers save money by using a short pipe that exits through a wall. Actually, this is a modern solution that you usually won’t find with old-fashioned log burners.
